ABORIGINAL CARBON FOUNDATION

The Aboriginal Carbon Foundation catalyses life-changing, community prosperity through carbon farming.

ABOUT US

How AbCF started and what our vision for the carbon industry is.

CORE BENEFITS

Funding to develop the Core Benefits Verification Framework was secured through the Carbon Plus Fund established by the Queensland Government in December of 2016 for the purpose of providing greater support to Aboriginal communities in Queensland and enable the undertaking of carbon projects that could provide additional employment and economic participation, and cultural outcomes.  The CarbonPlus Fund was designed, in part, to provide capacity building by a) creating a methodology to value environmental, social and cultural core-benefits; b) provide training for Aboriginal communities to take up carbon farming opportunities; and c) directly develop a funding mechanism that facilitates a market for carbon credits that deliver environmental, social, and cultural benefits for Aboriginal communities.
